After 4 weeks the Rockies are 14-12 a year ago they were 15-10 after 4 weeks. Comparable starts between the two years. Last year the Rockies would get to 19-13 and eventually 27-21 before falling the rest of the season.
There are a lot of ups and downs throughout the season. Lots of things happen during the season, but you need to get your footing and be consistent over time.
After roughly one month the Rockies have had some really bad outings as well as some really spectacular wins. They have 5 wins already when scoring 1, 2, or 3 runs. They have also lost 2 games when scoring 9 or more runs.
This afternoon they won their first road series and gained their first Sunday Win of the season.
I had to stretch to get this streak, but the Rockies this weekend started a stretch in which they will play 22 of 34 on the road through June 1st. Ideally they need to go no worse than 17-17 during this stretch and possibly have a winning record over that stretch. This stretch includes the only 2 3 city road trips the Rockies have all year, and one of them is only 8 days long. Following that stretch the Rockies play 32 of 48 at home.
The Rockies also are getting great production off of their bench and in the bullpen. Brandon Barnes has stepped in during Michael Cuddyer's injury and has been great at the plate filling in. Adam Ottavino has been lights out so far.
All in all, the Rockies are in a decent position and have held their own against the NL West so far. Currently 1.5 games behind the Giants and tied for 2nd place.
Let's review in 5 weeks.
